Join the excitement on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Victory Field for the fifth annual Caroline Symmes Celebrity Softball Challenge, benefiting Indiana Children's Wish Fund and presented by The Tony Stewart Foundation. This event is in memory of Wish Child, Caroline Symmes. Fans have the opportunity to witness their favorite hometown Superstars battle it out in a 7-inning celebrity softball game. Players include the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers, mascots, media personalities and other sports stars.

Tickets are ONLY $7 and FREE for children ages 3 and under. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. In addition to the softball game, a special Interactive Game area will be available and includes fun games, face painting, and local mascots. Tickets to Celebrity Softball Challenge are available at www.indyindians.com or can be purchased at the Victory Field box office.

Roy Hibbert, All Star Center for the Indiana Pacers and Robert Mathis, Pro Bowl Defensive End of The Indianapolis Colts will host the event. Last year, over 25 Indianapolis Colts players, including Jeff Saturday, Pierre Garcon and Dwight Freeney, along with Indiana Pacers Danny Granger and Jeff Foster, television and radio media personalities and other celebrities participated in the softball game.

“This year we’re featuring a fun promotion called Pack the House, “says Terry Ceaser-Hudson, Executive Director of Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. “We want to break all attendance records, have a great time and grant as many wishes as possible for our Wish children.”

Prior to the game, 1070 THE FAN will hold the “Budweiser Home Run Derby”, courtesy of Budweiser.

Adding to the fun this year will be a FREE concert performed by up and coming country music star, Corey Cox. Corey has performed in numerous Indianapolis venues including Super Bowl Village and sang the national anthem at The Brickyard 400 race. He recently was featured at Country Music Expo and released his third album, Good Night Comin’ On. Corey has built his name through his relatable lyrics, contagious songs and energetic live shows. He is excited to share his music at Victory Field. The concert will take place immediately after the softball game and is open to fans of all ages.

“This is an amazing event, bringing together celebrities, Wish children and our community,” says Terry Ceaser-Hudson. “Fans have the opportunity to see their favorite celebrities up close, get autographs and enjoy a fun family event.”

“We’re excited to be expanding this year’s softball game with the Cory Cox concert after the game,” added Ceaser-Hudson. “His musical talent and fan base is a special treat and a wonderful additional to the festivities.”

The event is in memory of Caroline Symmes, a Wish child who was involved with the inaugural softball event and passed away in December 2009.

Proceeds from this event will help Indiana Children’s Wish Fund grant wishes to Indiana children, ages 3 -18, who suffer from a life-threatening illness. Indiana Children’s Wish Fund has granted over 3,000 wishes within the past 28 years to Indiana children. Wishes include; trips to Disney World, meeting celebrities, shopping trips, home computers and much more.
