Posted: Jun 05, 2013

Event to Benefit Indiana Children’s Wish Fund In honor of Tyler Frenzel, Wish Child

Ready, set, PULL! Want to experience a unique game of tug-of-war against an unlikely opponent…an airplane, and support a local wish-granting organization at the same time? Now is your chance to become involved at the third annual Airplane Pull presented by Republic Airways Holdings Inc. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Indianapolis International Airport benefiting Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. Join the excitement from 9 a.m. until noon outside the Republic Airways hangar and enjoy food, music, and fun games of tug-of-war between teams and a twin engine jet!

Think that you personally have what it takes to take on the metal giant? Create your own tug-of-war team, either corporate or individual, by simply finding ten people (three of which must be female) to participate. Each team must raise at least $500 in pledges or donations, with all proceeds raised going towards granting wishes for Indiana children. Prizes will be awarded for the following: team with the fastest pull time; team that raises the most money; the individual who raises the most money; as well as to the team displaying the most original event outfits. Every team that raises $5,000 or more will be paired with a Wish child and sponsor their special wish. Registration deadline is March 29, 2013.

“Pulling for Wishes” is dedicated in the memory of Tyler Frenzel, a Carmel boy who suffered from Leukemia and passed away in 2004. Tyler’s wish, a trip to Disney World, was granted by Indiana Children’s Wish Fund.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to experience something unique and exciting, while helping support an organization that serves so many deserving children,” says Terry Ceaser-Hudson, Executive Director of Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. “How many people actually can say they’ve played tug-of-war against an airplane, and helped precious Wish children at the same time?”

Proceeds from this event will help Indiana Children’s Wish Fund grant wishes to Indiana children, ages 3 -18, who suffer from a life-threatening illness. Indiana Children’s Wish Fund has granted over 2,800 wishes within the past 29 years to Indiana children. Wishes include; trips to Disney World, meeting celebrities, shopping trips, home computers and much more.

Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts, prepare for takeoff, and get ready for an exciting adventure! To register your team contact Indiana Children’s Wish Fund at 317-913-WISH (9474) or brad@indywish.org
