Press Release: Indiana Children’s Wish fund “Portrait of Wishes Ball” Set for October 5th, 2013

The annual Indiana Children’s Wish Fund “Portrait of Wishes” gala, one of the largest fundraisers for Indiana Children’s Wish Fund, will take place Saturday, October 5th, 2013 at The Tower, One American Square in downtown Indianapolis. The event celebrates Indiana Children’s Wish Fund’s 29th year and more than 3,000 wishes granted for Indiana children. Festivities begin with a reception and silent auction at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner, dancing, and a live auction. Presenting sponsor of the gala is Capital Group Companies, home of the American Funds.

Event chairs of Portrait of Wishes Ball are Cammie Blackman, Kathie Copeland and Alyce Edwards.

Featured entertainment will be provided by Groove Essential, a unique live band that creates a fun and high-energy evening and provides an outstanding song selection. Tickets are $150 per person. The prestigious 2013 Megan Skinner Award winner is Stephen F. Burns. Burns graduated Cum Laude from Denison University and Indiana University School of Law. He practiced law for over 20 years and was Chairman of the Board/ President and CEO of Wheaton Van Lines, Inc. from 1988 to 2009. Burns has served on many local and national boards including Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. Steve will be honored for his involvement with various Indiana charities and his generous fundraising and dedication to Indiana Children’s Wish Fund.

All proceeds from “Portrait of Wishes” gala will benefit Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. Indiana Children’s Wish Fund was established in 1984 and grants wishes to Indiana children, ages 3 -18, who suffer from a life-threatening illness. Indiana Children’s Wish Fund has granted more than 3,000 wishes to Indiana children. Wishes include trips to Disney World, meeting celebrities, shopping sprees, and much more.
