Saks Fifth Avenue Indianapolis gave shoppers a chance to give back to Indiana Children’s Wish Fund through a special 3 month program titled “I’m Going to Saks…For My Favorite Charity”. From August 1st through October 31st, 2010 shoppers using their Saks credit card were able to have 10% of their purchase donated to ICWF. Over the 3-month interval, Indiana Children’s Wish Fund received $20,000 from Saks Fifth Avenue.
“We want the people who shop with us to not only look their best when they leave our store, but more importantly, feel their best,” says Saks Fifth Avenue Indianapolis General Manager Garry Navarre. “This program was designed to do just that for both our loyal and new clients, whose generosity continues to be an inspiration to our store and the community.”
The Saks promotion began with a kick-off party in early August with ICWF staff and board members in attendance. In addition, Saks Fifth Avenue hosted an in-store shopping event, which featured a special fashion show with celebrity Wish families and supporters. Runway models included: Wish Mom Libby Symmes with two of her children, Sullivan and Natalie, Wish Mom Nancy Kapsalis with one of her daughters Taia and Wish Fund supporters, Alyce Edwards with children Trey and Elyse, J’Lynn Benner and Kristen Smith with her daughter Amelia. The night of fashion and fun was hosted by radio personality Laura Steele and attendees were able to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by harpist Jill Pitz while watching the fashion show.
