True to form, Reggie Wayne, star Wide Receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, captivated the audience…but this time to raise money for Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. For the third year, Reggie Wayne hosted Wishing on Stars, a celebrity serve, on November 2nd 2009 at Mo’s A Place for Steaks downtown Indianapolis. He was joined by teammates, Indiana Pacers and other local celebrities to raise money by doing just about anything in the name of charity. Celebrity appearances included Gary Brackett, Dallas Clark, Robert Mathis, Joseph Addai, Antoine Bethea and Pierre Garcon to name a few Colts plus Danny Granger, Mike Dunleavy, Roy Hibbert and Dahntay Jones of the Indiana Pacers. Tully Bevilaqua from the Indiana Fever and Luke Menard of American Idol, along with other local celebrities and former basketball stars rounded out the celebrity list.
The evening began with a cocktail reception, followed by a Celebrity introduction by MC Dave Calabro, dinner and a silent and live auction. Throughout the evening, the players and other celebrities signed autographs, served cocktails, personalized voicemails, performed guests’ favorite songs, and spent time with attendees in a relaxed, enjoyable environment. A highlight of the evening came when Reggie Wayne presented Wish recipient Sarah Fenimore, age 17, with a personalized designer purse from a Louis Vuitton designer and Nick West, age 12, with a personalized autographed football from Colts players. The evening was full of good food, camaraderie and a chance to raise money for Indiana children.
In addition to a wonderful evening at Mo’s A Place for Steaks, the Indiana Pacers held a halftime presentation during the next evening’s Pacers vs. Nuggets game honoring Reggie Wayne, Austin Croshere and Indiana Children’s Wish Fund for working together to grant wishes to Indiana children.
